Spring is in the air and the months are flying! So what have I been working on so far in 2026?
A few years ago, I joined a Christian writing group called “Write For A Reason,” which was set up by Janet Wilson, of Dernier Publishing.(Janet is a writer and publisher of Christian books for ids and eens.)
I’m part of a small Buddy Group that meets online to encourage and support one another as we work on our stories.
Recently, after much prayer, I’ve decided to shelve my Middle Gradefor now, and circle back to a Young Adult novel I started writing a few years ago. Currently nicknamed “Storm Story” (huge clue as to what the story might contain), I feel for various reasons that this is the story that God wants me to work on first.

Without further ado, I’m delighted to give.
On a remote island, where everyone knows your name, 16 year old Evie Mackenzie has learned to be strong.. Guarded by gri>
With her father often away on his Vetinary rounds, and her little sister Lucy to take care of, Evie finds comfort in routine and in her familiar friendship with lifelong , Logan Bailey. Logan has always been kind, steady and dependable. But lately, Evie has begun to sense that some feelings are harder to name, and even harder to ignore.
When an unexpected storm threatens everything she holds dear, Evie must decide whether to rely on her own strength or open her heart and trust in God, even when the path ahead feels uncertain.
I feel really excited about what God could do with this story, but as with any writing project, there are no shortcuts in the task of getting it written, and there are often challenges along the way! I would really appreciate your prayers as I press on with writing the first draft!
My goal is to write the words THE END before Christmas!
